Women's Soccer Draws in Conference Road Game

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)-Thomas More University women's soccer team tied Ohio Dominican on Wednesday evening (September 20), 4-0. The Saints overall record falls to 0-4-2 and 0-2-1 in conference.

• With 7:40 on the clock, ODU's Alex Garver scored for the Panthers off an assist by Ryanne Buck to give them a 1-0 lead.
• The Saints would rally back and tie the score to 1-1 in the 27th minute, off a goal by first year Andela Popovic (Belgrade, Serbia Belgrade High School), assisted by graduate student Sydney Rhodes (Lebanon, Ohio/Kings).
• ODU would then score in the 33rd minute to help the Panthers regain the lead with a goal by Mallory Smucker, assisted by Kaleigh Jaracz (2-1).
• ODU started off the second half with a goal in the first 50 seconds by Roisin Kennedy with an assist by Devin Schoenberger, to extend the Panthers lead to 3-1.
• The Saints would fight back in the 52nd minute to cut the lead to 3-2. Sophomore Emma Fluit (Komoka, Ontario Medway) would find the back of the net off an assist by graduate student Ryann Meddings (Fairfield, Ohio/Fairfield).
• ODU would fire back and score less that 30 seconds later to push the lead to 4-2. ODU's Carmen Morris would score of an assist from Riley Arnold.
• Thomas More would then score back to back goals in the 60th and 69th minute from sophomore Marte Enger (Oppegaard, Norway Roald Amundsen Saint Leo) (unassisted) and Sydney Rhodes assisted by sophomore Lauren Laake (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mt. Notre Dame) to tie the game up at 4-4.

• Sydney Rhodes tallied four shots with three on goal. She found the back of the net once and recorded an assist.
• Andela Popovic and Emma Fluit both had one shot on goal which found the back of the net.
• Marte Enger recorded two shots on goal and scored once.
• Lauren Laake had one shot on goal and an assist.
• Ryann Meddings tallied an assist.
• Senior Lindsay Ballinger (Cincinnati, Ohio/Roger Bacon) and junior Eva Kinwel (Arnhem, Netherlands Beekdal Lyceum) both had one shot on goal.

The Saints return to action on Saturday as they return home to take on Finday on Republic Bank Field at 1:00 P.M. ET.
