Women's Tennis Defeats Pikeville 7-0

(PIKEVILLE, Ky.)-Thomas More University's women's tennis team defeated Pikeville on Thursday (April 13), 7-0. The Saints overall record improves to 7-8 and 4-5 in conference. 

• First year Alexis Covington (Cincinnati, Ohio/Walnut Hills) and first year Heidi Kane (Gilford, Ind./East Central) defeated Hannah Thompson and Elizabeth Davis 6-2.
• Sophomore Dakota Schroeder (Tipp City, Ohio/Tippecaneo) and sophomore Noelia Martinez Garcia (Santander, Spain/IES Las Llamas) won 6-4 over Gabi Gucanes and Genesis Medina.
• Senior Kimberly Sabga (Maraval, Trinidad and Tobago International School of Port of Spain) and junior Cassie Saner (Independence, Ky. Simon Kenton) won 6-3 over Katie Steib and Sara Contreras.

• Alexis Covington won 6-1 and 6-4 over Gabi Gucanes.
• Dakota Schroeder defeated Genesis Medina 6-2 and 6-4.
• Noelia Martinez Garcia won with the scores 6-2 and 6-0 over Elizabeth Davis.
• Heidi Kane won 7-6 (1) and 6-1 over Katie Steib.
• Cassie Saner defeated Sara Contreras 6-2 and 6-3.
• Kimberly Sabga won with the scores 7-6 (4) and 6-2.

The Saints return to action tonight (April 14) against Shawnee State at 7:00 pm ET for Senior Night at Five Seasons.
