Women's Tennis Closes Out Regular Season with a Win Over Shawnee State

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.)-Thomas More University's women's tennis team defeated Shawnee State on Friday evening (April 14), 7-0. The Saints overall record improves to 8-8 and 5-5 in conference.

• First year Alexis Covington (Cincinnati, Ohio/Walnut Hills) and first year Heidi Kane (Gilford, Ind./East Central) won 6-1 over Claire Carruthers and Lacey Urban.
• Sophomore Dakota Schroeder (Tipp City, Ohio/Tippecaneo) and sophomore Noelia Martinez Garcia (Santander, Spain/IES Las Llamas) defeated Antonia Ilea and Kenzie Harmon 6-1.
• Senior Kimberly Sabga (Maraval, Trinidad and Tobago International School of Port of Spain) and junior Cassie Saner (Independence, Ky. Simon Kenton) closed out the doubles with a 6-0 win over Brooklyn Foose and Lexy Urban.

• Alexis Covington defeated Lacey Urban 6-1 and 6-1.
• Dakota Schroeder won 6-0 and 6-1 over Claire Carruthers.
• Noelia Martinez Garcia won over Antonia Ilea with the scores 6-1 and 6-1.
• Heidi Kane defeated Lexy Urban 6-1 and 6-0.
• Cassie Saner won 6-1 and 6-0 over Kenzie Harman.
• Kimberly Sabga closed things out, winning 6-0 and 6-0 over Brooklyn Foose.

The Saints will compete in the Mid-South Conference Tournament next week (April 20-23) with information to be announced.
