Saints Lose a Close One to MVNU by a Goal

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - The Thomas More men's lacrosse team lost to Mount Vernon Nazarene on Thursday (April, 13th) afternoon by a score of 11 to 10. The Saints fall to an overall record of 1-11 on the season.

How they scored

  • First year Graham Houser (Hilliard, Ohio / St. Charles) got the Saints started with an unassisted goal to give Thomas More an early lead. (1-0)
  • MVNU scored three straight goals to take the lead as we entered the second quarter. (1-3)
  • First year Spencer Lethbridge (Olmsted Falls, Ohio / Olmsted Falls) scored to get it back to a one goal game. (2-3)
  • MVNU answered to stretch their lead. (2-4)
  • First year Maxwell Moore (Louisville, Ky. / DuPont Manual) found the back of the net to put it back to a one score game. (3-4)
  • First year Nick Boriin (Worthington, Ohio / Thomas Worthington) ties the game up with a goal off an assist from first year Patrick Giles (Goodyear, AZ / Desert Edge). (4-4)
  • Nick Boriin then finds Graham Houser for another goal to give Thomas More back the lead. (5-4)
  • MVNU would go on to score in the final seconds of the half to tie it up. (5-5)
  • MVNU opened the second half with 3 straight goals. (5-8)
  • Nick Boriin finds the back of the net for the second time today off an assist from Spencer Lethbridge. (6-8)
  • MVNU scored two more goals to stretch their lead to four. (6-10)
  • Maxwell Moore set up Spencer Lethbridge for a Saint goal to open the fourth quarter. (7-10)
  • MVNU answered with another goal. (7-11)
  • Nick Boriin goes on to score off a Spencer Lethbridge pass, then finds Graham Houser for a goal a few minutes later to make it a 2 goal game. (9-11)
  • Graham Houser scores his fourth goal of the game off an assist from Spencer Lethbridge to cut it to one. (10-11)

Up Next

Men's lacrosse will return to action next Wednesday (April 19th) when they travel to Ann Arbor, Michigan to take on Concordia University. The game is set to begin at 4:00 PM ET.
