Saints Lose a Close One to MVNU by a Goal

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - The Thomas More men's lacrosse team lost to Mount Vernon Nazarene on Thursday (April, 13th) afternoon by a score of 11 to 10. The Saints fall to an overall record of 1-11 on the season.

• First year Graham Houser (Hilliard, Ohio / St. Charles) got the Saints started with an unassisted goal to give Thomas More an early lead. (1-0)
• MVNU scored three straight goals to take the lead as we entered the second quarter. (1-3)
• First year Spencer Lethbridge (Olmsted Falls, Ohio / Olmsted Falls) scored to get it back to a one goal game. (2-3)
• MVNU answered to stretch their lead. (2-4)
• First year Maxwell Moore (Louisville, Ky. / DuPont Manual) found the back of the net to put it back to a one score game. (3-4)
• First year Nick Boriin (Worthington, Ohio / Thomas Worthington) ties the game up with a goal off an assist from first year Patrick Giles (Goodyear, AZ / Desert Edge). (4-4)
• Nick Boriin then finds Graham Houser for another goal to give Thomas More back the lead. (5-4)
• MVNU would go on to score in the final seconds of the half to tie it up. (5-5)
• MVNU opened the second half with 3 straight goals. (5-8)
• Nick Boriin finds the back of the net for the second time today off an assist from Spencer Lethbridge. (6-8)
• MVNU scored two more goals to stretch their lead to four. (6-10)
• Maxwell Moore set up Spencer Lethbridge for a Saint goal to open the fourth quarter. (7-10)
• MVNU answered with another goal. (7-11)
• Nick Boriin goes on to score off a Spencer Lethbridge pass, then finds Graham Houser for a goal a few minutes later to make it a 2 goal game. (9-11)
• Graham Houser scores his fourth goal of the game off an assist from Spencer Lethbridge to cut it to one. (10-11)

• Nick Boriin led the Saints with 3 goals, 2 assists, a ground ball and a caused turnover.
• Spencer Lethbridge tallied 5 points which included 2 goals and 3 assists, to go with a ground ball.
• Graham Houser recorded four goals,  ground balls, and a caused turnover for the Saints.
• First year Kaleb Lusanga (South Bend, Ind. / Mishawaka Marian) led the team with 8 ground balls and also won 12 faceoffs.
• Patrick Giles recorded an assist to go with 4 ground balls and a team high 3 caused turnovers.
• First year Trevor Almanza (Cincinnati, Ohio / Fairfield) tallied 13 saves while in goal for the Saints.

Men's lacrosse will return to action next Wednesday (April 19th) when they travel to Ann Arbor, Michigan to take on Concordia University. The game is set to begin at 4:00 PM ET.
