Women's Tennis Defeats Georgetown for First Conference Win of the Season

(GEORGETOWN, Ky.)-Thomas More University's women's tennis team defeated Georgetown (Ky.) on Tuesday (March 28) 5-2. The Saints overall record improves to 4-7 and 1-4 in conference. 

• First year Alexis Covington (Cincinnati, Ohio/Walnut Hills) and sophomore Dakota Schroeder (Tipp City, Ohio/Tippecaneo) defeated Martin and Hill 6-2.
•  First year Heidi Kane (Gilford, Ind./East Central) and junior Cassie Saner (Independence, Ky. Simon Kenton) fell to Prince and Spady 7-6 (7) (3).
• Sophomore Noelia Martinez Garcia (Santander, Spain/IES Las Llamas) and senior Kimberly Sabga (Maraval, Trinidad and Tobago International School of Port of Spain) won 6-2 over Moss and Blank.

• Alexis Covington won 3-6, 6-4, and 6-4 over Martin.
• Dakota Schroeder defeated E Hill 6-4 and 7-3 (3).
• Noelia Martinez Garcia won by the scores 6-2 and 6-4 over Spady.
• Heidi Kane came out on top over M Gill 6-3 and 6-2.
• Cassie Saner fell to Prince 6-3 and 6-2.
• Kimberly Sabga was defeated by Moss 6-2, 4-6, and 0-1 (8).

The Saints return to action on Thursday (March 30) at 3:00 pm against Lindsey Wilson in Columbia, Ky.
