Women's Loses Close Match to UT Southern

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.)-Thomas More University women's tennis fell to RV UT Southern on Friday evening (March 17) 4-3. The Saints overall record falls to 3-5 and 0-2 in conference.

• Senior Kimberly Sabga (Maraval, Trinidad and Tobago International School of Port of Spain) and sophomore Noelia Martinez Garcia (Santander, Spain/IES Las Llamas) fell to Otone Odajima and Yen-Ju Chang 7-6 (7) (4).
• First year Heidi Kane (Gilford, Ind./East Central) and junior Cassie Saner (Independence, Ky. Simon Kenton) were defeated 7-5 to Emely Castro and Leovanna Viamonte.
• First year Alexis Covington (Cincinnati, Ohio/Walnut Hills) and sophomore Sydney Johnson (Independence, Ky./St. Henry) won 6-3 over Abbey Rumble and Victoria Sanches.

• Alexis Covington won 6-3 and 6-2 over Margaret Lucas.
• Noelia Martinez Garcia won over Otone Odajima 6-1 and 6-2.
• Cassie Saner fell 6-7 (1) and 6-7 (5) to Emely Castro.
• Heidi Kane defeated Yen-Ju Chang 6-0 and 6-2.
• Kimberly Sabga fell 4-6 and 1-6 to Leovanna Viamonte.
• Junior Madi Carle (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mercy McAuley) was defeated by Sara Teoro De Morais 1-6 and 2-6.

The Saints return to action today (March 18) against Cumberland (Tenn.) at 5:00 pm ET at Five Seasons.
