Men's Lacrosse Falls to MVNU in First Game in Program History

(MOUNT VERNON, Ohio) - The Thomas More men's lacrosse team fell to the Mount Vernon Nazarene Cougars by a score of 16-10, in the first game in program history. 

• At the 13:33 mark in the first quarter, first year Nick Boriin (Worthington, Ohio / Thomas Worthington) scored the first goal in program history to give the Saints the early 1-0 lead. The assist came from first year Spencer Lethbridge (Olmsted Falls, Ohio / Olmsted Falls).
• Just 18 seconds later, first year Andrew Pulliam (Lexington, Ky. / Lexington Christian Academy) found the back of the net with the assist from first year Graham Houser (Hilliard, Ohio / St. Charles) to give Thomas More a 2-0 lead.
• With 11:43 to go in the first quarter, Graham Houser scored an unassisted goal to put Thomas More up 3-0.
• With 10:57 on the clock in the first quarter, Grahm Houser again finds the back of the net with the assist from Nick Boriin to give Thomas More the early 4-0 lead.
• MVNU would go on to score 4 goals of their own to tie the game at 4 after the first quarter.
• With 11:34 in the second quarter, Graham Houser scored his third goal of the game off an assist from Nick Boriin to make it a 5-4 Thomas More lead.
• 90 second later Graham Houser scored again to put the Saints up 2 off an assist from Spencer Lethbridge.
• MVNU would answer with 2 goals of their own to tie the game back up at 6.
• First Year Maxwell Moore (Louisville, Ky. / DuPont Manuel) scored his first goal of the season off an assist from Spencer Lethbridge to put the Saints up once again at 7-6.
• MVNU would answer with a goal of their own as the teams go into half all tied up at 7.
• MVNU would go on to open the third quarter with 4 straight goals to take an 11-7 lead.
• Andrew Pulliam with 1:43 to go in the quarter fires one past the goalie to make the score 11-8 at the end of the third quarter.
• MVNU scores twice in the early minutes of the fourth quarter to take a 13-8 lead.
• With 7:24 to go, Spencer Lethbridge scores off a Maxwell Moore assist on an extra man opportunity cut the deficit to 4.
• MVNU scored twice with by the 4 minute mark to make the score 15-9.
• With 3:45 to go, Spencer Lethbridge scored again, this time assisted by Nick Boriin to make the score 15 to 10.
• MVNU scores with 1:20 to go to make it 16-10.

• Graham Houser finished with four goals and an assist.
• Andrew Pulliam scored 2 goals.
• Nick Boriin had a goal along with 3 assists.
• Spencer Lethbridge had 3 assists in the game to along with 2 goals.
• Maxwell Moore tallied a goal and an assist.
• First year Patrick Giles (Goodyear, AZ. / Desert Edge) led the team with 3 ground balls in the contest.
• First year Trevor Almanza (Cincinnati, Ohio / Fairfield) recorded 9 saves while in goal.

Men's lacrosse will return to action on Saturday (February 18th) when they travel to Elkins, WV. to face Davis & Elkins College at 2 p.m. ET.
