Saints Earn First G-MAC Victory Behind Leonard's 28 Points

Box Score (CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY)-Thomas More University women's basketball team picked up their first Great Midwest Athletic Conference victory at home on Saturday (December, 2nd) over the Cedarville Yellow Jackets by a score of 80 to 50. Thomas More improves to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in G-MAC play.

• Senior Kelly Brenner (Cincinnati, Ohio/Roger Bacon) got Thomas More started with a layup to put the Saints in front (2-0).
• First year Rylee Leonard (Sardinia, Ohio/Eastern Brown) drains her first three pointer of the afternoon off a sophomore Rylee Turner (Newport, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) assist to extend the Saint lead, (5-0).
• Senior Maggie Jones (Piner, Ky./Simon Kenton) knocks down a three pointer off an assist from Kelly Brenner to make it a 10 point lead at the first media timeout.
• First year Desiree Tandy (Danville, KY / Danville) makes a layup on an assist from Maggie Jones to extend the Saint lead, (20-4).
• Maggie Jones ends the first quarter with a three pointer to make it a 20 point game off an assist from senior Rachel Martin (Cincinnati, OH / Summit Country Day).
• Rachel Martin opened the second quarter with a triple off an assist from Maggie Jones (27-4).
• Rylee Leonard drains her third three pointer of the half off an assist from Desiree Tandy (34-9).
• Senior Alex Smith (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mercy McAuley) knocks down a three pointer off an assist from first year Morgan Hunt (Hollansburg, OH / Tri-Village) (37-11).
