(CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY)-Thomas More University men's soccer team defeated Kentucky Wesleyan by a score of 5 to 1 on Saturday (October, 21st) evening. The Saints honored the 8 senior members of their program before the game. Thomas More moves to 8-7-1 overall on the season and 6-5-1 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play.
- The Saints got off to a hot start with an opening minute goal by first year Mazimillian Lorenz (Mainz, Germany / Gustav Stresemann) off the assists of first year Balthasar Zimmerman (Munich, Germany / Theodolinden) and sophomore Julen van Egmond (Amsterdam, Netherlands / St. Nicolaaslyceum).
- Senior Ben Oliver (Eckington, England / Hartpury) added to the lead with a goal in the 3rd minute off assists by Julen van Egmond and redshirt senior Thomas Wolfe (Marysville, Ohio / Marysville).
- Kentucky Wesleyan score their lone goal in the 16th minute of the match to make it 2 to 1.
- Graduate student Ali Kazim Nakhid (Beirut, Labanon / City International) tallied a goal in the 33rd minute to make it a 3 to 1 game.
- First year Karim Slim (Beirut, Lebanon / College Louise Wegman) rounded out the first half with a goal to make it 4 to 1.
- Redshirt sophomore Matthaus Buechner (Goshen, OH / Goshen) scored in the second half to extend the Thomas More lead to 5 to 1.
