Women's Soccer Defeats Newberry on the Road

(NEWBERRY, SC)-Thomas More University's women's soccer team defeated Newberry College on Wednesday afternoon (Oct 11), 2-1. The Saints record improves to 3-7-2.

• Graduate student Sydney Rhodes (Lebanon, Ohio/Kings) scored her fifth goal of the season off an assist from junior Amy Bos(Nijmegen, Netherlands Mondial College Nijmegen) to give the Saints the lead in the 15th minute.
• Sophomore Emma Fluit (Komoka, Ontario Medway) would extend the lead in the 20th minute with an assist by first year Andela Popovic (Belgrade, Serbia Belgrade High School) to make it a 2-0 game.
• Newberry's Molly Quartly would score in the last minute of the game to cut the lead to 2-1.

• Sydney Rhodes had three shots on goal with one finding the back of the net/
• Emma Fluit had one shot on goal that went in.
• Andela Popovic had one assist.
• Amy Bos recorded four shots and one assist.
