Women's Soccer Win Big Over Shawnee State to Remain Undefeated

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) Thomas More University women's soccer team defeated Shawnee State on Saturday afternoon (September 24) 4-0. The Saints overall record improves to 7-0-2 and 2-0 in conference.How they scored
  • First year Lauren Laake (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) scored in the ninth minute off an assist by first year Olivia Mohs (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) to put the Saints on the board 1-0.
  • In the 52nd minute, Laake headed the ball into the back of the net for her second goal of the game to extend the Saints lead to 2-0 off a beautiful cross by junior Ainsley Clark (Oxford, Ohio/Talawanda).
  • Junior Avery Seig (Lawrenceburg, Ind./Lawrenceburg) headed junior Ryann Meddings' (Fairfield, Ohio/Fairfield) corner kick in for a goal in the 71st minute to make it a 3-0 game. 
  • Junior transfer Sterre Harsveld van der Veen (Utrecht, Netherlands/USG) followed up a save off the goalie to score in the 80th minute to put the Saints up 4-0.
