Women's Soccer Season Opener Against Milligan Ends in a Tie

(MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn.)-Thomas More University women's soccer team opened their season on Wednesday (August 24) against Milligan in a 1-1 tie. 

• Milligan's Kelsey Miller scored the first goal of the game with 24:51 to play in the first half to out the team on the board (0-1).
• Junior transfer Sterre Harsveld van der Veen (Utrecht, Netherlands/USG) scored the Saints first goal of the season off an assist by first year Olivia Mohs (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) with 21:25 to play in the first half to tie the game up at 1-1.

• Harsveld van der Veen recorded six shots with two on goal and one of them finding the back of the net. 
• Sophomore Ainsley Clark (Oxford, Ohio/Talawanda) tallied two shots with one one goal.
• Junior Lindsay Ballinger (Cincinnati, Ohio/Roger Bacon) had one shot. 
• Junior Ryann Meddings (Fairfield, Ohio/Fairfield) had one shot on goals and four shots total.
• Sophomore Brooke Breaker (Ross, Ohio/Ross) had one shot. 
• Mohs recorded three shots with one assist. 
• First year Emilia Geren (Mason, Ohio/Mason) had two shots on goal.
• Junior Sydney Rhodes (South Lebanon, Ohio/Kings) tallied four shots with three of them on goal.
• Sophomore Lotte Derksen (Didam, Netherlands/Liemers College) had two shots on goal.
• Sophomore Eva Kinwel (Arnhem, Netherlands/Beehadal lyceum) recorded one shot on goal.
• First year Molly Hayes (Monroe, Ohio/Monroe) had one shot.
• First year Lauren Laake (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) had one shot on goal.

The Saints return to action on Saturday (August 27) for their home opener against RV UNOH at 1:00 pm ET on Republic Bank Field.
