(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) – The NAIA released their 2022 football NAIA scholar-athletes this afternoon and Thomas More had four athletes recognized.
In order to be nominated, you must have a 3.50 grade-point average or higher on a 4.0 scale, have been at your current institution for at least one full calendar year, and must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport.
Being honored for the third time in their careers are
Trey Brausch (Alexandria, Ky. / Bracken County HS) and
Casey Humphreys (Versailles, Ky. / Woodford County HS). Brausch was also named to the Academic All-District team by the College Sports Communicators late last month. The senior holds a 3.52 grade point average (GPA) and majors in Secondary Education – Social Studies. Humphreys is a Business Administration major that had a 3.52 GPA at the time of his nomination.
Sophomores
Hunter Ahlfeld (Fort Thomas, Ky. / Highlands HS) and
Tyler Taktak (Batavia, Ky. / West Clermont HS) both were named scholar-athletes for the first time in their careers. Ahlfeld is a Business Administration – Finance major, who held a 4.00 at the time of nomination. Taktak also majors in Secondary Education – Social Studies with a 3.77 GPA at the time of his nomination.
