Women's Volleyball Grabs 10th MSC Win At UT-Southern

(PULASKI, Tenn.) – The Thomas More University women's volleyball team swept Tennessee Southern Friday night for their 17th win of the season and 10th in the Mid-South Conference.

Results

Thomas More jumped out to a 15-6 lead in the first set, as they led 8-1 to begin the match. The Saints were led to this point by a trio of Sawyer Lorentz kills and a pair of Jess Gearries kills. The Firehawks would cut the score down to four at 17-13 after a 7-2 run, but a 5-0 flurry from the Saints halted the momentum and led to a 25-15 set one victory.

Thomas More once again got off to a strong start in set two, taking an 8-2 lead off the strength of three Lorentz kills. The Firehawks would cut the lead down to two or three on several occasions, but the Saints kept them at bay throughout the set. Thomas More would win 25-23 and take a 2-0 match lead.

The final set was tied at 14-14 before the Saints seized the momentum with a 4-0 scurry. Lorentz, Ally Albrinck, and Sydney Hilderbran all had kills during the stretch. Tennessee Southern would never recover and the Saints would win the set 25-20 and the match 3-0.
