Blaine Espinosa was named the Offensive Player of the Week.
Espinosa, who is from Cookeville, Tennessee, had a huge game Saturday afternoon against University of the Cumberlands in Thomas More's final game of the season. He went 22-31 through the air for 254 yards and five touchdowns, three of them going to
Roques Dowdy.
Espinosa tied the program record with his five-touchdown performance and is the first one since Justin Post on Aug. 31, 2019, to throw five touchdowns in a single game. He becomes just the third player in program history to accomplish the feat.
Espinosa also ran for 23 yards on eight attempts and added a touchdown on the ground in the 43-10 victory. He finishes the season with a career-high 1,839 passing yards, 14 passing touchdowns, 223 rushing yards, and seven rushing touchdowns.
