(MCKENZIE, Tenn.) – The Thomas More University football team lost their Mid-South Conference road game Saturday afternoon at No. 6 Bethel University (Tenn.) 57-7. They drop to 4-4 overall and 3-2 in the MSC.
The Saints fell behind early and couldn't get anything going offensively. They had a chance in the first quarter after
Jackson Belk forced a fumble and recovered it off a punt, starting the drive in Wildcat territory. However, they couldn't capitalize. They got the ball back into Bethel territory early in the second quarter but were forced to punt once again.
Their next best chance came in the fourth quarter, driving to the Bethel 35 after a 14-yard pass to
Hunter Ahlfeld. The drive would stall though, and the Saints would punt.
On their final drive of the game, Thomas More would have a 12-play drive littered with
Jaden Hall rushes. Hall would break off runs of 15 and 10 yards, but the drive was really set in motion by an
Andrew Warth to
Cameron Patterson 30-yard pass and catch to the Bethel six-yard line. Hall would cap it off and score on a six-yard run.
Thomas More is back on Republic Bank Field next Saturday afternoon against the University of Pikeville Bears at 1:30 p.m. Pikeville beat Thomas More last season 13-7.
