Box Score Lebanon, Tenn. - The volleyball program at Thomas More defeated the Phoenix of Cumberland 3-2 on Friday, September 10. With the win the Saints move to 12-1 on the season and 1-1 in Mid-South Conference play.
Thomas More won 3-2 over Cumberland via scores of 25-22,25-11, and 15-13, the Phoenix won the first two sets by scores of 25-19 and 25-23.
- Senior outside hitter Emily Mohs (Cincinnati, Ohio / Seton) tallied 18 kills to lead the Saints and also added three blocks.
- Junior middle hitter Sawyer Lorentz (Dover, Ohio / Dover) notched 15 kills on .393 attacking percentage with three total blocks.
- First-year defensive specialist Asia Ferrando (Masone, Italy / Barletti Ovada) had a team high 30 digs while adding two service aces.
- Senior setter Lizzie Schoenfeld (Cincinnati, Ohio / Seton) notched a team high 25 assists with two service aces.
- First-year setter Sam McClanahan (Georgetown, Ky. / Scott County) followed Schoenfeld in the assist category with 24.
- Junior middle blocker Danyka Groover (Rising Sun, Ind. / Rising Sun) proved to be a defensive force with five total blocks.
Women's volleyball will return to the court on Thursday, September 16 when they play host to Shawnee State University in the Connor Convocation Center, opening serve is set for 7 p.m. ET.
