Box Score (CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.)-Thomas More University women's soccer team defeated Georgetown 4-2 on Tuesday evening (Nov. 2) to advance to the quarter finals of the MSC Tournament. The Saints overall record improves to 10-8 and 6-6 in the conference.
- 4:51 into the game, first-year Amy Bos (Beuningen, Netherlands / Mondial College Nijmegen) rocketed the ball into the back the of the net from 35 yards outs to give the Saints the lead (1-0).
- Junior Sydney Rhodes (South Lebanon, Ohio / Kings) would finish the ball into the net for a goal off a corner from junior Ryann Meddings (Fairfield, Ohio / Fairfield) to extend the Saints lead to 2-0.
- Georgetown would fight back in the 27th minute with Maddie Sparks finishing it for a goal, assisted by Carson Smith to put the Tigers on the board (2-1).
- In the 62nd minute, Rhodes would dive for a header to find the back of the net from a beautiful cross from Bos to give the Saints a 3-1 lead.
- With 10 minutes to play, Georgetown's Bronwyn Hackeny scored from far out in the up left 90 to put the Tigers down by one (3-2).
- First-year Eva Kinwel (Anaheim, Netherlands / Beehadal lyceum) finished a cross from Bos into the back of the net to give the Saints a 4-2 lead.
- Rhodes recorded three shots with the two being on goal finding the back of the net.
- Bos had had three shots with two on goal, one of which was a goal, and had two crossed assists.
- Kinwel recorded one goal and had three shots on goal.
- Meddings had one assist and had two shots with one being on goal.
- Senior Lindsey Brown (Melbourne, Ky. / Campbell County) tallied three shots with all three being on goal.
- First year Lotte Derksen's (Didam, Netherlands/Liemers College) had one shot on goal.
- First-year goal keeper Kylie O'Leary (Fairfield, Ohio/Fairfield) made four saves.
