Box Score 2 (FORT WAYNE, Ind.) — The Thomas More University women's volleyball team won both of its matches on the second day (Saturday, October 12, 2019) of the Liz Lykowski Memorial Tournament, hosted by Indiana Tech, at the Schaefer Center in Fort Wayne, Ind. The Saints beat Goshen 3-2 and Concordia 3-1.
GOSHEN MATCH
- Thomas More won by the scores of 16-25, 25-18, 25-14, 24-26, 19-17.
- The Saints trailed 14-9 in the fifth set before coming back to win
- Senior middle hitter Jenna Mummert (Batavia, Ohio/Clermont Northeastern) led the Saints with 17 kills (.452 attack percentage), two aces, and three blocks.
- First-year middle hitter Sawyer Lorentz (Dover, Ohio/Dover) had 16 kills (.519 attack percentage) and six blocks.
- Sophomore outside hitter Emily Mohs (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) had 14 kills.
- Senior outside hitter Madison Krumpelman (Crestview Hills, Ky./Holy Cross) finished with 10 kills and 18 digs.
- Sophomore setter Lizzie Schoenfeld (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) had 31 assists and 11 digs.
- Junior setter Madison Read (Hebron, Ky./St. Henry) had 22 assists.
- Senior defensive specialist Sara Crooker (Williamsburg, Ohio/McNicholas) finished with 16 digs.
- Junior defensive specialist Jessica Ginn (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) tallied 14 digs.
CONCORDIA MATCH
- Thomas More won 25-17, 25-17, 22-25, 25-16
- The Saints improved to 15-6.
- Mummert had 15 kills, two service aces and three blocks.
- Krumpelman had with 12 kills and 13 digs.
- Mohs added 12 kills with a .407 attack percentage.
- Schoenfield had 21 assists and nine digs.
- Read finished with 27 assists.
- Senior right side Alli Borders (Florence, Ky./Boone Count) had five kills and two blocks.
- Ginn and Crooker each finished with 25 digs.
- Thomas More will host Wittenberg in a non-conference match at the Connor Convocation Center on Tuesday, October 15 at 7:30 p.m.
