Box Score 2 (FORT WAYNE, Ind.) – The Thomas More University women's volleyball team went 1-1 today (Friday, October 11, 2019) on the first day of the Liz Lykowski Memorial Tournament hosted by Indiana Institute of Technology at the Schaefer Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The Saints fell 3-0 to Indiana Tech, but defeated Spring Arbor University 3-0.
INDIANA TECH MATCH
- Indiana Tech won by the scores of 25-15, 25-20 and 25-22.
- Senior middle hitter Jenna Mummert (Batavia, Ohio/Clermont Northeastern) led the Saints as she had 10 kills, three service aces and three blocks.
- Sophomore outside hitter Emily Mohs (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) had six kills and two blocks.
- Senior outside hitter Madison Krumpelman (Crestview Hills, Ky./Holy Cross) finished with seven digs.
- First-year middle hitter Sawyer Lorentz (Dover, Ohio/Dover) had four kills.
- Sophomore setter Lizzie Schoenfield (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) paced the offense with 14 assists.
- Junior setter Madison Read (Hebron, Ky./St. Henry) had 12 assists.
- Junior defensive specialist Jessica Ginn (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) tallied five digs.
SPRING ARBOR MATCH
- Thomas More won the match by the scores of 25-18, 25-17 and 25-13.
- The Saints improve to 13-6.
- Mohs had 12 kills, three digs and two blocks.
- Mummert added seven kills, two service aces and four digs.
- Junior right side Carlee Lambert (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) had five kills and four digs.
- Krumpelbeck finished with five kills, three service aces and 14 digs.
- Schoenfield had 15 assists.
- Read had 10 assists and five digs.
- Senior right side Alli Borders (Florence, Ky./Boone Count) had five kills and two blocks.
- Ginn finished with six digs.
- Thomas More will close out the Liz Lykowski Memorial Tournament tomorrow with a 10 a.m. match against Goshen College and a 12 p.m. match against Concordia (Mich.) University.
