Box Score 2 (CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The Thomas More College volleyball team posted a pair of 3-0 wins today (Saturday, September 23, 2017) against Waynesburg University and Chatham University in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) tri-match at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
With the sweep, the Saints improve to 12-4 overall and 5-0 in the PAC.
Thomas More defeated Waynesburg in the first match of the day by the scores of 25-18, 25-20 and 25-9.  Sophomore outside hitter Madison Krumpelman (Crestview Hills, Ky./Holy Cross) and sophomore middle hitter Jenna Mummert (Batavia, Ohio/Clermont Northeastern) led the offensive attack as they each had eight kills.  Junior setter Jenna Fessler (Fort Mitchell, Ky./Beechwood) paced the offense with 11 assists.  Defensively, first-year defensive specialist Jessica Ginn (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) had eight digs and senior defensive specialist Rachel Bronner (Reading, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) finished with seven digs.
In the final match of the day, the Saints defeated Chatham by the scores of 25-14, 27-25 and 25-14.  Fessler led the team with 32 assists.  Mummert led the attack with 13 kills, while Krumpelman finished with eight.  Bronner led the team on the defensive side of the net as she had 16 digs and Ginn added nine.
Thomas More closes out the five match home stand tomorrow as it host fellow PAC unbeaten Westminster College at 1 p.m. at the Connor Convocation Center.
