Box Score 2 (LATROBE, Pa.) – Thomas More College volleyball started conference play against Washington & Jefferson and Saint Vincent. The Saints swept the competition going 3-1 against Washington & Jefferson and 3-0 against Saint Vincent. With the wins, Thomas More moves to 8-4 overall and 2-0 in conference play. As a result, Jenna Fessler made All-Tournament team.
Against Washington & Jefferson, Alli Borders led the team in kills recording 12 while Carlee Lambert and Jenna Mummert were not far behind with 11 kills each. Jessica Ginn had 19 digs along with Rachel Bronner recording 17 of her own. Mummert recorded four solo blocks. The Saints went on to defeat the Presidents 3-1 with scores of 25-16, 25-16, 23-25, 25-22.
In the match against Saint Vincent, Fessler recorded 23 assists while Madison Krumpelman had 13 kills. Mummert was not too far behind having 10 kills. Ginn had 16 digs overall. Borders had one solo block and a block assist, along with Mummert with one solo block of her own to make up the Saint' three total blocks. The Saints shut out the Bearcats, 3-0, with scores of 25-12, 25-17, 25-20.
Thomas More volleyball is back in action for their home opener against Thiel and Grove City on Sept. 22. The match is set to start 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Both matches will be played at Notre Dame Academy High School.
