Box Score (GREENVILLE, Pa.) – The Thomas More College volleyball team capped an undefeated Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) regular season today (Sunday, October 29, 2017) as it defeated Thiel College, 3-0, in the regular season finale at Beeghly Gymnasium in Greenville, Pennsylvania. The Saints won the match by the scores of 25-14, 25-21 and 25-18.
With the win, the Saints finish the regular season at 27-5 overall and 18-0 in the PAC. Thomas More is the No. 1 seed in the upcoming PAC Championship Tournament and will host the semifinals and championship matches on Friday and Saturday (November 3-4) at the Connor Convocation Center. The Saints will play either No. 4 seed Geneva College or No. 5 seed Washington & Jefferson College in the first semifinal match at 6 p.m. on Friday and No. 2 seed Westminster College will play either No. 3 seed Bethany College or No. 6 seed Chatham University in the 8 p.m. semifinal match. With the loss, the Tomcats end the season at 10-19 overall and 4-14 in the PAC.
Sophomore outside hitter Madison Krumpelman (Crestview Hills, Ky./Holy Cross) and first-year outside hitter Carlee Lambert (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) led the offensive attack with 11 kills each, while sophomore middle blocker Alli Borders (Florence, Ky./Boone County) added 10 kills. Junior setter Jenna Fessler (Fort Mitchell, Ky./Notre Dame Academy) led the Saints in assists with 36.
Thomas More was led on the defensive side of the net by first-year defensive specialist Jessica Ginn (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) with 20 digs and sophomore outside hitter Sara Crooker (Williamsburg, Ohio/McNicholas) with 13 digs.
Admission for all PAC Championship events is $5 for adults and $2 for students. PAC and institutional passes are not accepted at PAC Championship events. Students from PAC institutions will be admitted for free to events at their school with valid college identification.
