Box Score (CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The Thomas More College women's volleyball team celebrated Rachel Bronner's senior night with a win against PAC rival Geneva. The Saints won 3-1 with scores of 20-25, 25-15, 25-20, 25-13. With the win, the Saints are now 22-5 overall and 13-0 in the PAC. With the loss, Geneva falls to 10-18 overall and 8-6 in the PAC.
Bronner recorded three assists and led the team with 39 digs in her final home match at Thomas More. Jenna Mummert led the team with 16 kills, one service ace, four digs, and four blocks. Carlee Lambert was close behind Mummert recording 10 kills and three digs. Jenna Fessler led the Saints in assists, recording 40 along with 14 digs, two blocks, and six kills.
In the first match, Geneva took the first point and continued their lead to 6-3. The Saints put a halt to their run tying the match 7-7. The Saints had a lead on Geneva, 10-8, before Geneva had an answer coming back and tying the match 10-10. Geneva went on a run and before the Saints could tie it up again, Geneva took the match 25-20.
In the second match, Thomas More took the first two points off of a kill by Madison Krumpelman and a block from Mummert and Alli Borders. The match was back and forth until the Saints went up 15-9. Geneva had a counter to the Saints' run, but was not enough to take the lead. After Geneva got within five, the Saints ran away with it, winning the match 25-15.
In the third match, the score was even up until a kill by Jessica Ginn started a run for the Saints. Another kill from Mummert extended the lead to two and a kill from Borders kept the Saints alive. Set three was won off an attacking error from Geneva's Kacey Costal.
The final set, the Saints had no mercy. Thomas More won the set 25-13. Two kills from Rana Cousin put the Saints up 11-6. A kill from Mummert extended the lead 15-9. After a few long rallies, Borders started the final run for the Saints, putting the team up 21-13. Four attacking errors in a row gave the Saints the win, 25-13.
The Saints are back in action Oct. 20 travelling to Westminster. The match starts at 7:00 PM.
