Box Score (CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – A late goal by senior forward Brian Runyon (Parkersburg, W.Va./Parkersburg) propelled the Thomas More College men's soccer team to a 1-0 win over Case Western Reserve University today (Sunday, September 4, 2016) in its home opener at BB&T Field in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
With the win, the Saints remain undefeated at 2-0 and with the loss, the Spartans fall to 1-1.
Runyon scored the lone goal of the match at the 83:29 mark off an assist from first-year forward Griffin Garrison (Cincinnati, Ohio/McNicholas).
Sophomore goalkeeper Jeff Paulin (Alexandria, Ky./Bishop Brossart) earned the shutout win as he played all 90 minutes.
Thomas More out-shot Case Western Reserve 12-4, including 6-0 on-goal. The Saints also won the battle of corner kicks, 9-4.
The Saints return to action on Friday (September 9) when it travels to Danville, Kentucky to play Spalding University at 5 p.m.
