Box Score (ADA, Ohio) – The Thomas More College volleyball team defeated Defiance College, 3-1, today (Saturday, September 3, 2016) on the second day of the 38th Annual Ohio Northern University Invitational at the ONU Sports Center in Ada, Ohio. The Saints won the by the scores of 25-10, 20-25, 25-22 and 25-18.
With the win, the Saints improve to 2-1 and with the loss, the Yellow Jackets fall to 1-2.
Senior outside hitter Marisa Meyer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) led the Saints' offense with 16 kills, while first-year outside hitter Madison Krumpelman (Crestview Hills, Ky./Holy Cross) added 12 and senior outside hitter Alexis Bierbaum (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) finished with 10 kills. First-year setter Alli Borders (Florence, Ky./Boone County) paced the offense with 41 assists.
On the defensive side the Saints were led by Meyer with 19 digs, while Bronner finished with 17 and Krumpelman added 13.
Thomas More returns to action on Friday (September 9) when it travels to Bluffton, Ohio for the Bluffton University Sommer Spiketacular.
