Box Score (CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The Thomas More College volleyball team had three players with double-digit kills as it defeated Thiel College, 3-0, today (Sunday, September 25, 2016) in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match at Beeghly Gymnasium in Greenville, Pennsylvania. The Saints won by the scores of 25-19, 28-26 and 26-24.
With the win, the Saints improve to 9-7 overall and remain undefeated in PAC play at 7-0. With the loss, the Tomcats fall to 6-10 overall and 1-5 in the PAC.
First-year outside hitter Madison Krumpelman (Crestview Hills, Ky./Holy Cross) and senior outside hitter Marisa Meyer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) led the Saints' attack with 12 kills each. Senior middle hitter Alexis Bierbaum (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) added 11 kills. First-year setter Alli Borders (Florence, Ky./Boone County) paced the offense with 37 assists.
On the defensive side of the net, the Saints had four players with double-digit digs led by junior defensive specialist Rachel Bronner (Reading, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) with 15. Meyer and sophomore defensive specialist Leanne Dant (Louisville, Ky./Bethlehem) each added 11 digs and Krumpelman finished with 10.
Thomas More returns to action on Saturday (October 1) when it travels to Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania for a tri-match with Geneva College and Waynesburg University.
