Box Score (GREENCASTLE, Ind.) – The Thomas More volleyball team fell, 3-0, to DePauw University tonight (Wednesday, September 14, 2016) in a non-conference match inside Neal Fieldhouse in Greencastle, Indiana. DePauw won the match by the scores of 25-15, 25-18 and 27-25.
With the loss, the Saints fall to 3-6 and with the win, the Tigers improve to 7-2.
Senior right side Paige Noday (Cincinnati, Ohio/McNicholas) led the Saints' attack with seven kills. Senior middle hitter Alexis Bierbaum (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley), first-year outside hitter Madison Krumpelman (Crestview Hills, Ky./Holy Cross) and first-year outside hitter Sara Crooker (Williamsburg, Ohio/McNicholas) all finished with six kills. First-year setter Alli Borders (Florence, Ky./Boone County) paced the offense with 25 assists.
Borders led the Saints on the defensive side of the net as she had 10 digs, while junior defensive specialist Rachel Bronner (Reading, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) added nine digs.
Thomas More returns to action on Saturday (September 17) when it hosts Bethany College and Chatham University in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) tri-match at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky. The Saints will play the Bison at 11 a.m. and the Cougars at 3 p.m.
