(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – Sophomore guard Madison Temple (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson) recorded a double-double today (Saturday, December 10, 2016) to lead the fourth-ranked Thomas More College women's basketball team to a 99-65 win over Bethany College in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
With the win, the Saints remain undefeated at 7-0 overall and 3-0 in the PAC. With the loss, the Bison fall to 3-6 overall and 1-2 in the PAC.
Thomas More out-scored Bethany 30-11 in the first quarter and 21-18 in the second quarter to build a 51-29 lead at halftime. The two teams each scored 26 points in the third quarter and the Saints out-scored the Bison 22-10 in the fourth quarter to cruise to the 99-65 victory. Thomas More out-scored Bethany 44-28 in the paint, 26-14 off turnovers and 14-2 on fast break points.
Temple end the game with 15 points and game-high 10 assists for her double-double. Joining her in double-figure scoring was junior guard Abby Owings (Independence, Ky./Simon Kenton) with a game-high 25 points and junior forward Nikki Kiernan (Cold Springs, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) with 11 points. Kiernan led the team on the boards with eight rebounds and in blocks with three.
Thomas More is idle until December 20 when it travels to Wilmington, Ohio to play Ohio Christian University at 8 p.m. on the first day of the Fred Raizk Memorial Classic.
