Saints Sweep Grove City, 3-0, on Senior Night

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The Thomas More College volleyball team swept Grove City College, 3-0, tonight (Friday, October 28, 2016) in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match on Senior Night at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.  The Saints won the match by the scores of 25-8, 25-16 and 25-16.

With the win, the Saints end the regular season at 20-9 overall and 16-2 in the PAC.  With the loss, the Wolverines fall to 10-20 overall and 7-10 in the PAC.

Thomas More finished the match with a .330 hitting percentage, while holding Grove City to a .000 hitting percentage.

Senior outside hitter Marisa Meyer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) led the Saints' offensive attack with a match-high 12 kills.  Senior middle hitter Alexis Bierbaum (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) added nine kills, while senior outside hitter Megan Klever (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview) finished with seven kills.  First-year setter Alli Borders (Florence, Ky./Boone County) paced the offense with 34 assists.

On the defensive side the net, Thomas More had three players with double-digit digs as Meyer had 16, junior defensive specialist Rachel Bronner (Reading, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) added 14 and senior outside hitter Sydney Bragg (Huron, Ohio/Huron) finished with 10.  Borders and Bierbaum led the Saints' block party with four blocks each.

Prior to the match Thomas More honored Meyer, Bierbaum, Klever, Bragg and senior right side Paige Noday (Cincinnati, Ohio/McNicholas) as they were playing in their final regular season home match inside the Connor Convocation Center.

The PAC office will announce the seeding and pairings for next week's PAC Championship Tournament on Saturday (October 29) evening.  The Saints can be a No. 1 or 2 seed depending on the outcome of tomorrow's match between Bethany College and Westminster College.  A Bison win will result in the Saints being a No. 2 seed and a Titan win will give Thomas More the No. 1 seed.
