No. 1 Thomas More Cruises To A 105-31 Win Over Westminster

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The top-ranked Thomas More College women's basketball team scored the first 22 points today (Saturday, January 30, 2016) and never looked back as it defeated Westminster College, 105-31, in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.

With the win, the Saints improve to 18-0 overall and 12-0 in the PAC.  With the loss, the Titans fall to 2-17 overall and 2-10 in the PAC.

Thomas More led 27-5 after one quarter, 47-7 at halftime and 80-18 after three quarters.

The Saints had a 40-10 advantage in points in the paint, 44-12 in points off turnovers, 20-0 in fast break points and the Saints bench out-scored the Titans bench, 48-9.  Thomas More forced the Titans to commit 37 turnovers and on the offensive end of the court the Saints had 31 assists on 37 field goals.

Senior guard/forward Sydney Moss (St. Albans, W.Va./Boone County (Ky.)) led five Saints in double-figure scoring with a game-high 17 points.  Joining her in double-figures was freshman guard Madison Temple (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson) with 14 points, junior guard Hannah Devine (Carrollton, Ky./Carroll County) with 12 points and sophomore guard Abby Owings (Independence, Ky./Simon Kenton) and sophomore forward Nikki Kiernan (Cold Springs, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) each finished with 10 points.  Thomas More was led on the boards by junior forward Kaylee Bush (Middletown, Ohio/Madison) with six rebounds, while Moss led the team in assists with eight and in steals by Moss with five and junior forward Kirsten Paul (Cincinnati, Ohio/Cincinnati Christian) with five steals each.

Thomas More returns to action on Wednesday (February 3, 2016) when it host Bethany College at 5:30 p.m. at the Connor Convocation Center.
