Box Score 2 (CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The Thomas More College volleyball team swept Waynesburg University and Westminster College today (Saturday, September 19, 2015) in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) tri-match at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky. The Saints defeated both team by the score of 3-0.
With the sweep, the Saints improve to 7-3 overall and 6-0 in the PAC.
In the first match of the day, the Saints defeated Waynesburg by the scores of 25-20, 25-8 and 25-12. The Saints' offense was led by senior middle hitter Jessica Knaley (Florence, Ky./St. Henry) and senior outside hitter Stacy Howell (Cincinnati, Ohio/Glen Este) with 10 kills each. Sophomore setter Jenna Fessler (Fort Mitchell, Ky./Beechwood) paced the offense with 35 assists. Junior outside hitter Marisa Meyer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) led the defense with nine digs.
In the second match, the Saints defeated Westminster by the scores of 25-16, 25-12 and 25-13. Howell led the team in kills with 17, while Knaley added 12. Fessler led the team in assists with 40. Junior outside hitter Sydney Bragg (Huron, Ohio/Huron) and sophomore defensive specialist Rachel Bronner (Reading, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) led the team in digs with nine each.
Thomas More is idle until October 1 when it travels to Bethany, West Virginia to play Bethany College at 7 p.m.
