Box Score (CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The Thomas More College volleyball team defeated Washington & Jefferson College, 3-0, tonight (Friday, September 18, 2015) in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky. The Saints won by the scores of 25-15, 25-21 and 25-11.
With the win, the Saints improve to 5-3 overall and 4-0 in the PAC. With the loss, the Presidents fall to 4-6 overall and 2-3 in the PAC.
Two Saints had double-digit kills as senior outside hitter Stacy Howell (Cincinnati, Ohio/Glen Este) had 12 and senior middle hitter Jessica Knaley (Florence, Ky./St. Henry) finished with 10. Junior middle hitter Alexis Bierbaum (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) just missed double-digit kills with nine. Sophomore setter Jenna Fessler (Fort Mitchell, Ky./Beechwood) paced the offense with 37 assists. Junior outside hitter Marisa Meyer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) led the team in service aces with five, while Fessler added four.
Defensively, sophomore defensive specialist Rachel Bronner (Reading, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) led the team in digs with 16, while Meyer added nine and junior outside hitter Sydney Bragg (Huron, Ohio/Huron) finished with seven.
Thomas More returns to action tomorrow (Saturday, September 19) when it hosts Waynesburg University and Westminster College in a PAC tri-match at the Connor Convocation Center. The Saints will play Waynesburg at 11 a.m. and Westminster at 3 p.m.
