Box Score (CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – Senior forward Austin Juniet (Fort Thomas, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) scored two goals today (Thursday, September 17, 2015) to propel the Thomas More College men's soccer team to a 2-0 win over in-state rivalCentre College in a non-conference match at BB&T Field in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
With the win, the Saints improve to 4-1 and with the loss, the Colonels fall to 2-3-1.
Juniet gave the Saints an early 1-0 lead when he scored off a double assist from junior forward Brian Runyon (Parkersburg, W.Va./Parkersburg) and junior midfielder Tim Knauer (Batavia, Ohio/Batavia) at the 4:55 mark.
Juniet made a penalty kick at the 58:17 mark for the final score of 2-0.
Freshman goalkeeper Jeff Paulin (Alexandria, Ky./Bishop Brossart) earned the shutout win as he played all 90 minutes and recorded eight saves.
Centre out-shot Thomas More, 16-9, including 8-5 on-goal. The Saints won the battle of corner kicks, 6-0.
The Saints return to action on Sunday (September 20) when they travel to Delaware, Ohio to play Ohio Wesleyan University at 2 p.m.
