Box Score (CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The top-seeded Thomas More College volleyball team swept fifth-seeded Westminster College, 3-0, tonight (Friday, November 6, 2015) in a semifinal match of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship Tournament at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky. The Saints won by the scores of 25-17, 25-12 and 25-12.
With the win, the Saints improve to 25-4 and advance to play either second-seeded Geneva College or third-seeded Bethany College tomorrow at 4 p.m. in the championship match at the Connor Convocation Center. With the loss, the Titans end the season at 13-24.
Senior outside hitter Stacy Howell (Cincinnati, Ohio/Glen Este) led the Saints' offensive attack with 15 kills. Junior middle hitter Marisa Meyer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) added 10 kills and junior outside hitter Alexis Bierbaum (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) finished with eight kills. Sophomore setter Jenna Fessler (Fort Mitchell, Ky./Beechwood) paced the offense with 36 assists, while Howell had a match-high six service aces.
Sophomore defensive specialist Rachel Bronner (Reading, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) led the Saints on the defensive side of the net with 14 digs. Fessler added 10 digs, while she and senior middle hitter Jessica Knaley (Florence, Ky./St. Henry) had three total blocks.
