Box Score (CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The fourth-ranked Thomas More College men's soccer team capped an undefeated Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) schedule with a 4-0 win over Washington & Jefferson College today (Sunday, November 1, 2015) at BB&T Field in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
With the win, the Saints improve to 16-1-1 overall and 8-0 in the PAC. Thomas More will be the No. 1 seed in the week's PAC Championship Tournament and will host No. 4 seed Westminster College in a semifinal match on Wednesday (November 4) at 2 p.m. at BB&T Field. With the loss, the Presidents fall to 9-7-2 overall and 4-4 in the PAC.
Thomas More took a 1-0 lead at halftime when freshman forward Suli Kayed (Union, Ky./Ryle) scored on a direct kick at the 44:37 mark.
The Saints increased the lead to 2-0 at the 49:23 mark when junior midfielder Alex Panaro (Lawrenceburg, Ind./Lawrenceburg) scored off an assist from senior forward Austin Juniet (Fort Thomas, Ky./Newport Central Catholic). Junior forward Brian Runyon (Parkersburg, W.Va./Parkersburg) scored on a penalty kick at the 58:34 mark and the Saints led 3-0. Juniet closed out the scoring at the 65:10 mark when he scored unassisted for the final score of 3-0.
Senior goalkeeper Collin Harkte (Warsaw, Ky./Gallatin County) earned the win as he played 69:50 in goal and recorded five saves. Freshman goalkeeper Jeff Paulin (Alexandria, Ky./Bishop Brossart) played the 20:10 in goal and didn't face a shot.
Thomas More out-shot W&J, 21-9, including 11-5 on-goal and won the battle of corner kicks, 6-0.
