Box Score (WASHINGTON, Pa.) – The Thomas More College volleyball team extended its winning streak to eight matches tonight (Wednesday, October 7, 2015) as it defeated Washington & Jefferson College, 3-0, in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match at the Henry Memorial Gymnasium in Washington, Pennsylvania. The Saints won by the scores of 25-15, 25-21 and 25-20.
With the win, the Saints improve to 9-3 overall and 8-0 in the PAC. With the loss, the Presidents fall to 9-8 overall and 5-5 in the PAC.
Sophomore setter Jenna Fessler (Fort Mitchell, Ky./Beechwood) paced the offense with 44 assists, while sophomore defensive specialist Rachel Bronner (Reading, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) led the team in service aces with four. Three Saints had double-digit kills as senior outside hitter Stacy Howell (Cincinnati, Ohio/Glen Este) had 14, senior middle hitter Jessica Knaley (Florence, Ky./St. Henry) had 12 and junior outside hitter Marisa Meyer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) finished with 11.
Bronner led the Saints' defense with 22 digs. Three other Saints finished with double-digit digs as Meyer had 15 and Fessler and Howell each had 13.
Thomas More return to action tomorrow as it will compete in a PAC tri-match in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Saints will play host Chatham University at 4 p.m., followed by Waynesburg University at 6 p.m.
