Box Score (CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The Thomas More College volleyball team capped an undefeated Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) regular season with a 3-0 win over Thiel College tonight (Thursday, October 29, 2015) on Senior Night at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky. The Saints won the match by the scores of 25-10, 25-15 and 25-20.
With the win, the Saints improve to 22-4 overall and finish the PAC regular season at 18-0. With the loss, the Tomcats fall to 3-26 overall and 3-14 in the PAC.
In the first set the Saints led by as many as 16 points when they earned a point on a Thiel attack error for a 23-7 lead. Thomas More went onto the 25-10 victory. In the second set Thomas More cruised to a 25-15 win before winning a back and forth third set 25-20.
Senior outside hitter Stacy Howell (Cincinnati, Ohio/Glen Este) led the Saints' offensive attack with a match-high 14 kills and four service aces. Senior middle hitter Jessica Knaley (Florence, Ky./St. Henry) had 11 kills and three services aces, while sophomore setter Jenna Fessler (Fort Mitchell, Ky./Beechwood) paced the offense with 30 assists.
Two Saints had double-digit digs on the defensive side of the net as sophomore defensive specialist Rachel Bronner (Reading, Ohio/Mount Notre) had 12 digs and Fessler had 10.
Prior to the match, Thomas More honored Howell and Knaley as they were playing their final regular season home match at the Connor Convocation Center.
The Saints close out the regular season on Saturday (October 31) when they travel to Westerville, Ohio for a tri-match at the Rike Center on Otterbein University's campus. Thomas More will play the University of Mount Union at 12 p.m., followed by a 3 p.m. match with the host Cardinals.
