Box Score (CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The top-seeded Thomas More College volleyball team won its third straight and sixth overall Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship Tournament today (Saturday, November 8, 2014) as it defeated third-seeded Geneva College, 3-0, in the championship match at the Connor Convocation Center. The Saints won by the scores of 25-15, 25-23 and 25-21.
With the win, the Saints improve to 29-4 and earn the PAC automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. It will be the Saints' school-best 13th NCAA Division III Tournament appearance. The tournament field and brackets for the NCAA Championship will be released on the NCAA championship website (www.ncaa.com) at 11 a.m. on Monday (November 11). With the loss, the Golden Tornadoes fall to 24-10.
Freshman setter Jenna Fessler (Fort Mitchell, Ky./Beechwood) paced the offense with 42 assists. Two Saints finished with double-digit kills as senior outside hitter Felicity Britt (Alexandria, Ky./Bishop Brossart) had 13 and junior outside hitter Stacy Howell (Cincinnati, Ohio/Glen Este) had 12. Senior defensive specialist Christina Newport-Brackett (Louisville, Ky./Seneca) led the team in service aces with two.
Defensively Newport-Brackett led the Saints with 12 digs, while senior defensive specialist Kelsey Castiglioni (Harrison Township, Mich./L'Anse Creuse).
