Box Score (CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - The Thomas More College volleyball team defeated Westminster College, 3-0, today (Saturday, November 1, 2014) and clinched a share of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) regular season title and the No. 1 seed in next week's PAC Championship Tournament. The Saints won by the scores of 25-13, 25-12 and 28-26.
With the win, the Saints improve to 27-4 overall and 16-2 in the PAC. As the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament Saints will host the semifinals and championship matches next Friday and Saturday (November 7 and 8). Thomas More will play in the first semifinal match on Friday at 6 p.m. With the loss, the Titans fall to 16-14 overall and 9-9 in the PAC.
Three Saints finished with double-digit digs as junior middle hitter Jessica Knaley (Florence, Ky./St. Henry) had 16, junior outside hitter Stacy Howell (Cincinnati, Ohio/Glen Este) had 13 and senior outside hitter Felicity Britt (Alexandria, Ky./Bishop Brossart) finished with 10. Freshman setter Jenna Fessler (Fort Mitchell, Ky./Beechwood) paced the offense with 47 assists.
Defensively the Saints were led by senior defensive specialist Kelsey Castiglioni (Harrison Township, Mich./L'Anse Creuse) with 25 digs and senior outside hitter Holly Bronner (Reading, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) with 13 digs.
