Box Score (WAYNESBURG, Pa.) – The Thomas More College volleyball team remained undefeated in the Presidents' Athletic Conference as it defeated Waynesburg University, 3-0, tonight (Thursday, October 9, 2014) in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania. The Saints won the scores of25-19, 25-7 and 25-17.
With the win, the Saints improve to 17-2overall and 7-0 in the PAC. Thomas More hasn't dropped a set in PAC play as it has a 21-0 set record in conference play. With the loss, the Yellow Jackets fall to 5-21 overall and 1-11 in the PAC.
Sophomore outside hitter Marisa Meyer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) led the Saints' offense as she had a .688 attack percentage with a match-high 13 kills. Senior outside hitter Holly Bronner (Reading, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) had 11 kills to go with her team-high 19 assists, while sophomore setter Nicci Stemler (North Bend, Ohio/Seton) finished with seven assists.
Two Saints finished with double-digit digs as senior defensive specialist Kelsey Castiglioni (Harrison Township, Mich./L'Anse Creuse) had 16 and senior defensive specialist Christina Newport-Brackett (Louisville, Ky./Seneca) added 13.
The Saints return to action tomorrow (Friday, October 10) when they travel to Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania to play Geneva College. The PAC match is scheduled for 7 p.m.
