Box Score (CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY.) – The Thomas More College volleyball team remains tied for first place in the Presidents' Athletic Conference as it defeated Grove City College, 3-0, tonight (Tuesday, October 28, 2014) at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky. The Saints won by the scores of 25-7, 25-10 and 25-9.
With the win, the Saints improve to 25-4 overall and 14-2 in the PAC. Thomas More enters its final two matches tied with Bethany College and Geneva College atop the PAC standings. With the loss, the Wolverines fall to 12-15 overall and 5-11 in the PAC.
Thomas More hit .488, while the Wolverines hit .048. Freshman setter Jenna Fessler (Fort Mitchell, Ky./Beechwood) paced the offense as she had a match-high 40 assists. Sophomore defensive specialist Libbi Giuliano (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) led the team in service aces with four, while junior middle hitter Jessica Knaley (Florence, Ky./St. Henry) added three. Knaley led the team in kills with 13, while junior outside hitter Stacy Howell (Cincinnati, Ohio/Glen Este) added nine and senior outside hitter Felicity Britt (Alexandria, Ky./Bishop Brossart) added eight.
Defensively, senior outside hitter Holly Bronner (Reading, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) led the team in digs with 18, while senior defensive specialist Kelsey Castiglioni (Harrison Township, Mich./L'Anse Creuse) finished with eight.
The Saints return to action on Friday (October 31) when they host fellow PAC leader Geneva. The match is scheduled for 6 p.m. inside the Connor Convocation Center.
