Box Score (CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The Thomas More College volleyball team remained undefeated in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) as it defeated Saint Vincent College, 3-0, tonight (Wednesday, October 1, 2014) in a PAC match at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky. The Saints won the match by the scores of 25-10, 25-15 and 25-20.
With the win, the Saints improve to 15-2 overall and 5-0 in the PAC. Thomas More hasn't dropped a in PAC play this season, while only dropping eight sets overall this season. With the loss, the Bearcats fall to 11-7 overall and 3-4 in the PAC.
Junior outside hitter Stacy Howell (Cincinnati, Ohio/Glen Este) led the Saints' attack as she hit .526 with a match-high 12 kills. Freshman middle hitter Kristen Jansen (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) finished with five kills, while senior outside hitter Holly Bronner (Reading, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) and senior outside hitter Felicity Britt (Alexandria, Ky./Bishop Brossart) each finished with four kills. Freshman setter Jenna Fessler (Fort Mitchell, Ky./Beechwood) led the team in assists with 21, while sophomore setter Nicci Stemler (North Bend, Ohio/Seton) added nine.
Two Saints finished with double-digit digs as senior defensive specialist Kelsey Castiglioni (Harrison Township, Mich./L'Anse Creuse) finished with 14 and senior defensive specialist Christina Newport-Brackett (Louisville, Ky./Seneca) added 11.
Thomas More is idle until next Wednesday (October 8) when it hosts PAC foe Chatham University at 6 p.m. at the Connor Convocation Center.
