Box Score (CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - The Thomas More College volleyball team defeated Thiel College, 3-0, tonight (Wednesday, September 25, 2013) in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky. The Saints won the match by the scores of 25-23, 25-20 and 30-28.
With the win, the Saints improve to 9-3 overall and 4-1 in the PAC. With the loss, the Tomcats fall to 0-17 overall and 0-5 in the PAC.
Sophomore middle hitter Jessica Knaley (Florence, Ky./St. Henry) led the Saints with 14 kills. Sophomore outside hitter Stacy Howell (Cincinnati, Ohio/Glen Este) added 11 kills and freshman middle hitter Alexis Beirbaum (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) had eight kills. Sophomore setter Becca Kuhn (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) led the team in assists with 39, while freshman outside hitter Sydney Bragg (Huron, Ohio/Huron) led the team in service aces with three.
Defensively, the Saints were led by junior defensive specialist Kelsey Castiglioni (Harrison Township, Mich./L'Anse) led the team in digs with 25, while Bragg added 16.
Thomas More returns to action on Saturday (September 28) when it travels to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for a PAC tri-match. The Saints play host Chatham University at 11 a.m. and Grove City College at 1 p.m.
