Box Score (CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - The Thomas More College defeated Anderson University, 1-0, today (Saturday, September 14, 2013) in a non-conference match at The Bank of Kentucky Field in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
With the win, the Saints improve to 3-1 and with the loss, the Ravens fall to 3-3.
The Saints scored the lone goal of the match at the 9:20 mark when junior forward Kyle Troutman (Fairfield, Ohio/Fairfield) found the back of the net off a cross from sophomore forward Austin Juniet (Fort Thomas, Ky./Newport Central Catholic).
Junior goalkeeper Matt Kees (Covington, Ky./Scott) played all 90 minutes to earn the shutout win as he recorded one save.
Thomas More out-shot Anderson, 10-6, including 5-1 on-goal. The Saints also won the battle of corner kicks, 5-2.
The Saints return to action on Tuesday (September 17) when they travel to Lexington, Kentucky to play in-state rival Transylvania University. The non-conference match is scheduled for 5 p.m.
