Box Score (BEAVER FALLS, Pa.) - The Thomas More College volleyball team fell, 3-1, to Geneva College tonight (Friday, September 13, 2013) in its Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match at Metheny Fieldhouse in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. Geneva won the match by the scores of 25-21, 25-16, 18-25 and 25-21.
With the loss, the Saints fall to 5-3 overall and 0-1 in the PAC. With the win, the Golden Tornadoes improve to 6-2 overall and 2-0 in the PAC.
Sophomore middle hitter Jessica Knaley (Florence, Ky./St. Henry) led the Saints offense with 10 kills, while junior outside hitter Holly Bronner (Reading, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) finished with eight kills. Sophomore setter Becca Kuhn (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hill) had 32 assists, while junior defensive specialist Kelsey Castiglioni (Harrison Township, Mich./L'Anse) led the team in service aces with two.
Defensively, Castiglioni led the team in digs with 24, while senior defensive specialist Brittany Rohrkasse (Mason, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) had 16 and Bronner added 13. Knaley led the team in blocks with five.
The Saints remain in Western Pennsylvania for a PAC tri-match tomorrow at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. Thomas More will play the host Bearcats at 11 a.m. and Westminster College at 1 p.m.
