Box Score (BLUFFTON, Ohio) - The Thomas More College volleyball team rallied from a 2-1 deficit to defeat Bluffton University, 3-2, tonight (Wednesday, September 11, 2013) in a non-conference match at the Sommer Center in Bluffton, Ohio. The Saints won by the scores of 25-23, 15-25, 21-25, 25-22 and 16-14.
With the win, the Saints improve to 5-2 and the Beavers fall to 2-6.
The Saints were led in kills by sophomore middle hitter Jessica Knaley (Florence, Ky./St. Henry) and sophomore outside hitter Stacy Howell (Cincinnati, Ohio/Glen Este) with 11 kills each. Junior outside hitter Holly Bronner (Reading, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) added nine kills. Sophomore setter Becca Kuhn (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) led the team in assists with 49.
Three Saints finished with double-digit digs as junior defensive specialist Kelsey Castiglioni (Harrison Township, Mich./L'Anse) had 20, Bronner had 15 and Kuhn added 13.
Thomas More returns to action on Friday (September 13) when it travels to Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania to play Geneva College in its Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opener. The match is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Metheny Fieldhouse.
