Box Score (CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - The third-seeded Thomas More College volleyball team defeated sixth-seeded Grove City College, 3-0, tonight (Tuesday, November 5, 2013) in a quarterfinal match of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship Tournament at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills, Kentucky. The Saint won the match by the scores of 29-27, 25-12 and 25-9.
With the win, the Saints improve to 22-5 and advance to play second-seeded Geneva College in a semifinal match on Friday (November 8) at 8 p.m. at Bethany College's Hummel Field House in Bethany, West Virginia. With the loss, the Wolverines fall to 15-15.
Junior outside hitter Felicity Britt (Alexandria, Ky./Bishop Brossart) led the Saints' offensive attack as she had a match-high 13 kills. Junior middle hitter Tyler Deaton (Lexington, Ky./Lexington Catholic) added eight kills, while freshman outside hitter Marisa Meyer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) finished with seven kills. Junior outside hitter Holly Bronner (Reading, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) led the Saints in assists with 25, while sophomore setter Becca Kuhn (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) added 13 assists and senior defensive specialist Brittany Rohrkasse (Mason, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) led the team in service aces with five.
Three Saints finished with double-digit digs as junior defensive specialist Kelsey Castiglioni (Harrison Township, Mich./L'Anse Creuse) had 22, Rohrkasse had 14 and freshman outside hitter Sydney Bragg (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) had 10.
