Box Score (CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - Freshman defender RJ Best (Lorton, Va./South County Secondary) scored two goals today (Wednesday, October 23, 2013) to lead the Thomas More College men's soccer team to a 2-0 win over Washington & Jefferson College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match at The Bank of Kentucky Field in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
With the win, the Saints improve to 12-2-0 overall and 5-0 in the PAC. With the loss, the Presidents fall to 8-6-1 overall and 3-1-1 in the PAC.
Best gave the Saints a 1-0 lead at the 24:37 mark when he scored unassisted. He would score his second goal of the match at 38:14 and the Saints increased their lead to 2-0.
Junior goalkeeper Matt Kees (Covington, Ky./Scott) played all 90 minutes in goal to earn the shutout victory.
Thomas More out-shot Washington & Jefferson, 12-2, including 6-0 on-goal and won the battle of corner kicks, 2-0.
The Saints return to action on Saturday (October 26) when they travel to Greenville, Pennsylvania to play Thiel College at 1 p.m.
