Box Score (ANDERSON, Ind.) - The Thomas More College men's soccer team remain unbeaten today (Saturday, September 15, 2012) as it shutout Anderson University, 2-0, in a non-conference match in Anderson, Indiana.
With the win, the Saints improve to 3-0-3 and with the loss, the Ravens fall to 2-5.
The two teams played to a 0-0 tie at halftime. The Saints took a 1-0 lead at the 58:05 mark when sophomore forward Kyle Troutman (Fairfield, Ohio/Fairfield) scored off a cross from senior midfielder Andrew Sullivan (Cincinnati, Ohio/Colerain). Troutman extended the Saints' lead to 2-0 when he scored his second goal of the match off an assist from sophomore midfielder Jake Plummer (North Olmsted, Ohio/Corpus Christy Academy) at the 61:41 mark.
Sophomore goalkeeper Matt Kees (Covington, Ky./Scott) played all 90 minutes in goal and improved his record to 3-0-3 as he posted the shutout with five saves.
Anderson out-shot Thomas More, 16-7, and won the battle of corner kicks, 4-3.
The Saints return to action on Tuesday (September 18) when they travel to Richmond, Indiana to play Earlham College in a 5 p.m. non-conference match.
